Vet Nurse Daniel

Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing (working towards)

Daniel has always loved animals and has been drawn toward exotic pets. He regularly attended Zoo’s Victoria ‘Youth At The Zoo’ youth volunteering program during his teenage years. Daniel completed work experience with Melbourne Zoo in 2015, which solidified his interest in working with ‘unusual’ pets.

Daniel started his career as a shelter animal attendant, then moved into general practice and emergency vet nursing. Daniel considers himself lucky to have gained a job at an exotics-only clinic last year, where he has been able to experience a huge variety of wonderful patients. He loves the diversity of cases and strives to provide the best nursing care for each individual patient. Daniel is currently studying the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing at La Trobe University and hopes to graduate at the end of 2022!

Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, Daniel volunteers with a therapeutic horse-riding organisation and enjoys horse riding, photography, and spending time outdoors.

Owned Pets

Growing up Daniel has owned a range of mice (21 at one point!), guinea pigs, and rabbits. I currently have two mini lop rabbits named Scrabble & Jigglypuff, and a cat named Winnie!
