The Donation Process:

1. Contact and Scheduling:

When the need for a blood donor arises, we will contact you via phone. As blood cannot be stored long-term, fresh donation is necessary. We will contact the next donor on our list if you’re unavailable.

2. Health Check

Prior to each donation, our veterinarians will conduct a thorough health assessment to ensure your pet is fit for donation. A PCV/TP blood test will also be conducted to check for anaemia.

3. Sedation

Typically, a mild sedative or short general anaesthetic will be administered to keep your pet calm and still during the procedure.

4. Blood Collection

A small amount of blood will be carefully collected.

5. Recovery

After donation, your pet will receive replacement intravenous fluids and be closely monitored to ensure their comfort and well-being.

Token of Appreciation:

As a token of our gratitude for your invaluable contribution, you will receive a $100 credit to your account each time your pet donates blood. This can be used at the clinic towards vet visits, food, or products.
