Dr Laurence Boulanger
DVM
Dr Laurence completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine in Quebec, Canada, in 2019. Throughout her studies, she had the privilege of working with exotic pets and wildlife across Canada and the US, learning from experts at Hope for Wildlife and Cornell University. Additionally, trips to South America, where she participated in a desexing program, kindled her passion for surgery and volunteering.
Over the past five years, Laurence has worked as a small animal and exotic vet in Quebec City, treating a wide range of animals, from guinea pigs and parrots to the occasional bald eagle. She has a special fondness for pet rats and has dedicated time to perfecting her care for these precious animals. In the last two years, Laurence also served as the head vet for the local rabbit shelter in Quebec City, cherishing the opportunity to make a positive impact through her volunteer work.
In 2024, Laurence embarked on a great adventure and moved to Australia, where she was delighted to join the UPV team.
Hobbies and Interests
Beyond her job, Laurence enjoys watching birds and fish while hiking and scuba diving. She loves reading fantasy novels, taking naps and sipping chai lattes with friends and family.
Owned Pets
Since setting off on her globe-trotting adventure to Australia, Laurence hasn’t had the chance to care for a pet. Previously, she was a devoted mother to ten beloved rats, one troublesome and adorable lop rabbit, and five wonderful budgies.
