Vet Nurse Kelsey
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Kelsey has always had a special interest in birds, which led her to start volunteering at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in 2009 where she spent her time cleaning, feeding and providing enrichment for the sanctuary birds. It was here that she realised her dream of becoming a veterinary nurse and she promptly started her studies.
While completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2011, Kelsey spent her spare time continuing her duties at the Sanctuary, but also took on the additional responsibilities of nursing at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, driving the RSPCA Wildlife Ambulance, and working at a small animal clinic. Since 2012 she has worked at an exclusive avian and exotics clinic, honing her nursing skills in caring for these unique pets. She has special interests in surgical nursing, avian enrichment, and invertebrate care.
Kelsey is a member of the Veterinary Nurse Council of Australia (VNCA) and a registered veterinary nurse with the Australian Veterinary Nurse and Technician (AVNAT) Registration scheme. Amongst other things she has attained her radiology license and has presented as a speaker at various conferences around Australia.
