Practice Manager CindyPractice Manager Cindy

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (Applied Vocational Training)
Advance Programme in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species (Girling and Fraser)

Before joining the Unusual Pet Vets in 2021, Cindy studied Egyptology at Macquarie University in Sydney, completing an undergraduate degree and then a Masters of Research and a season at an archaeological dig in Egypt.

Cindy decided to start her journey into vet nursing after moving to a farm property in the Swan Valley. She worked in a mixed practice clinic in the Swan Valley for two years; however, her passion was exotic animals, and she landed her dream job with our Balcatta team as a veterinary nurse and then becoming the Practice Manager a year later. Cindy loves surgical nursing and the attention to detail required for exotic anaesthetics. You can be sure that when your pet is in its most vulnerable state, they’re in safe hands with Cindy.

Hobbies and Interests

Outside work, Cindy can be found tending to her indoor plant jungle, strolling through garden centres and nurseries with friends, aquascaping her aquariums, curling up with a good book and a coffee, or enjoying Perth’s local venues and outdoor markets.

Cindy is a proud pet parent to a managery of pets, including; one hand-reared cat that was surrendered to her at just three weeks of age which is referred to as her “biological cat”, Goose. Cindy also has two rabbits, Thumpy and Aribella, one axolotl called Bean, a Betta fish called Sherman and a community tank full of various tropical fish.
