Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Science (BSc), TAE Assessor Skillset

Tiana has always loved the feathered and scaled pets since she was young, so naturally pursued a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with wildlife creatures. Tiana completed all of her clinical placement hours at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, then moved into a private avian and exotic practice. She worked up from a junior nurse through to a Senior Nurse, whilst starting a Bachelor of Science degree at university. Towards the end of her degree, Tiana made the switch to Emergency and Critical Care nursing at a large specialty hospital, allowing her to hone into her triage and practical skills across a range of species. Tiana also works as a Scientist in a veterinary laboratory alongside her casual nursing role at UPV Sunshine Coast, which allows her to help animals in many different ways!

Tiana has also had the pleasure of presenting (as a speaker and poster exhibitor) and participating in several avian and exotic conferences across Australia.

Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, Tian enjoy’s camping, reading by the beach, making art, gardening and listening to true crime and disease focussed podcasts.

Owned Pets

Tiana is a proud pet parent to a gentle old soul Beagle named Bobby, a craft kitty named Kenny and a teeny pygmy bearded dragon called Norbert.

Cannot speak highly enough of the caring and lovely staff at UPV Osborne Park. Particularly to Dr Kelly for the wonderful treatment and compassion she displayed caring for my much loved Bugz. Definitely recommend this practice. Simply the Best.

It’s a great vet for exotic pets, we would like to thank Dr Kiara and the nurses for all the help they have done for the bunnies especially when they have been unwell.

Gretel – Thankyou for all the tips and advice on what and what not to do with the bunnies.

We will definitely be recommending to all our exotic animal friends.

Excellent service, caring and professional advice, and very good handling for our pet bird, on our first visit today at The Unusual Pet Vets, Jindalee. Very helpful, and they also provided further reading for us via email after our appointment regarding a few things we asked about. All staff were lovely and friendly – from the initial phone booking (you can do internet bookings too) to and including the consult. Thank you very much – we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.
