Dr Dean Felkler

BSc BVetMed CertAVP (ZooMed), Diplomate, ABVP (Reptile & Amphibian Practice) MRCVS, RCVS Advanced Practitioner (ZooMed)

Dr Dean graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2012. He quickly gravitated towards the exotic animal field and went on to become an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine in 2017. Although exotic animal medicine encompasses a large number of species, His main passion is working with reptiles and achieved Diplomate, American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Reptile and Amphibian Practice) status in 2025.

Dr Dean has treated exotic animals at first opinion, referral level and emergency out of hours across the globe. He now resides in Australia and is very happy to have joined the UPV team in their dedication to treating exotic animals to the highest level.

Hobbies and Interests

In his free time, Dr Dean leads an active lifestyle and enjoys training in the gym and Muay Thai. He also loves hiking and beach days.

Excellent service, caring and professional advice, and very good handling for our pet bird, on our first visit today at The Unusual Pet Vets, Jindalee.
