I came in with my very ill rat, Einstein, who unfortunately passed away. The vet took him in immediately and began stabilising him, and gave me the options. I decided euthanasia was the best thing to do in his condition. The vets and nurses were so supportive, understanding and patient. They gave me time with him and even took his little paw prints. They were very sympathetic and gave me a lot of time. I even paid much less than I expected to.
Today I unexpectedly received a letter in the mail from them. It is a handwritten card with a beautiful photo of a rat on the front and a packet of Everlasting Daisy seeds that I will be planting over Einstein’s little burial spot. This is the most thoughtful thing I have ever gotten and I am so grateful for the amazing staff at UPV. Thank you so much for all you do, I appreciate you guys ❤️

Thank you so much UPV Osbourne park! My poor little bun Twitchy was so ill on Friday morning when I took him in, I really thought he wasn’t going to make it. With GI status and an enlarged kidney which was failing it didn’t look good for him. Vet Kelly was amazing!!! She was so compassionate, informative and did everything she could to support my little man and my budget. Yes this is an expensive place! But who can put a price on their beloved pet who is family! It was worth every cent and could have been a lot more expensive if it wasn’t for Kelly really looking at what was needed and the hole picture. Originally it looked like his kidney would be removed but Kelly wanted to give supportive care and review again at the end of the day to see if there was any improvement before making the decision as he was so Sick and the procedure would be risky. After 2 days and one night of supportive care twitchy got to come home with me as his kidney has reduced nearly back to normal size! He is bouncing around like his happy self again after the amazing support he was given at UPV. Kelly really listened to me and went through every and best options for my little man to have a fighting chance. Thank you to everyone there and especially Kelly as I was a mess and the support you provided me was exceptional! I have complete trust in this vet and could not recommend her more highly!

I had a very sick bunny that unfortunately we had to give the final act of kindness. The staff were so wonderful and understanding. Fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

A wonderful and reassuring experience every single time. I have gone there 4 times since June for my bearded dragon, Ted.

My first time was with Dr. Holly Yang for a ScaleStart Package. She was lovely to speak with, kind, and friendly and things went very smoothly. She was very helpful and answered all questions with enthusiasm and patience.

The second time was when I had to admit Ted for emergency and had to leave him there for a few hours. Dr. Kelly Giles took care of him and she was also terrific. She was very knowledgable, sensitive, and friendly. I felt very safe having Ted under her care.

The third and fourth were with Dr. Mike Geen. Ted has spent the most amount of time with him so I feel 100% confident in saying that you will not regret putting your reptile under his care. I feel that Dr. Mike has put an outstanding quality of medical care towards my Ted, always helpful, patient and kind. Answered my questions with patience and expertise. He took his time to explain Ted's conditions, made sure if I had any concerns and listened to them very well.

Overall, I would definitely recommend The Unusual Pet Vets in Osborne Park. I have gone to different vet clinics for my Ted and I can 100% say for certain that even though The Unusual Pet Vets are a bit more costly, I am more than happy to go to them every single time as I feel that their quality of care and expertise is unmatched. Everyone there are all lovely and passionate people, very highly recommend.

It has taken me a couple of days to write this review as I have been very affected. Long shorty short, I took my Guinea pig who had an issue in his eye (cloudy). Vet Holly Yang attended him. He took him away from me to check him - I couldn’t see any procedures, when she came back to the box with a horrid face she told me that “she has never seen a worst eye than this”… I asked what was wrong and she just said that he needed an EYE REMOVAL as an URGENT SURGERY. I was confused as my Guinea wasn’t acting weird - he still eats, poos normally and move normally. He is a shy boy and I took him for a check up because he also had a bold patch in his back.

I was so overwhelmed an concerned that he was in pain because she kept insisting that this surgery was needed as an emergency as he was in SO much pain.

I asked her how much was the surgery and medicines (that were already dispensed without my consent)

She told me the surgery was around 1,300 au and the appointment and medicines were 415 aud. I asked if there was any sort of discount or anything… she said that I could apply for vet pay to pay on instalments (which is a rip off -18% of interest daily), otherwise I would have to go with the euthanasia as he was in SO much pain.

Please note that I didn’t purchase the eye drops that Holly Yang wanted me to take home ($115 aud), because my boy was supposed to loose his eye next morning. (Literally one drop would have cost me 115 aud) (does that make any sense?)

She delivered the news and messages in the hardest way, not compassion and sensitivity. Just blunt as.

Things were not making sense for me so even tho she booked my boy for the surgery next day at 8.30 am I decided to take my Guinea to Drovers Wanneroo Hospital for a second opinion. (Guinea pig FB Group recommended)

The owner of the hospital, DR. Wayne, who is specialised in small animals, told me that my Guinea had a higher intraocular pressure (the reading was less than a half of what UVP advised) and that him as vet would recommend an eye removal surgery if the Guinea was presenting discomfort, however he doesn’t seem to be bothered with his blind eye. So he gave a me an alternative treatment with eye drops and told me stop with the Tramadol (that UVP pushed to sell it) and that I would only keep using Meloxicam for the inflammation.

He actually assessed my boy in front of me, he delivered the news with enough care for me to understand and process everything.

I am furious with Unsual Pet Vets.

On top of everything, they have been harassing me to re schedule my boy for the “urgent” surgery when he DOESN'T NEED. Calls and messages telling me that he is in so much pain that he needs the surgery or the euthanasia. Are they kidding themselves?

The fact of them pushing for something that isn’t needed, dispensing medicines without my consent, insisting on medicines that were not needed, and also, being rude as well as not compassionate is enough for me to write this review and alert all people TO AVOID THIS PRACTICE and hopefully ban that vet from practicing.

Note: if you go there, you will get charged a fortune and they will try to send your for an unnecessary surgery and tons of medicines.

Today, my boy could have been dead, but guess what? He is happy, running in the yard, squeaking on the green grass.

Took our bunny here and saw Dr Katrina Wood. She was very attentive and caring. Being first time bunny owners, Dr Wood was extremely informative with how to properly care for our little Thumper 🐰. Would reccomend UPV and Dr Wood to everyone 😊

***Update*** i received a card and some seeds to bury to remember my little bird with today for the loss of my little bird . How very nice and thoughtful of them. Kind people they are*** Took my little rainbow lorrikeet in here today after he got brain damage they think (so they said). They treated me and my "little mate" great. even know he had to be put to sleep my poor little boy. The Price to see them was shocking but they gave me a big discount which was great. Im Really happy with their compassion they gave/showed me as well. I just wish the Murdoch one did the same years ago when treating my pink and grey cocky. See my review on the Murdoch vet site. Thank you to the vet and everyone else at the unusual pet vet in Osborne park. Its a big shame they couldn't do anything for my little mate to save him far as i know. The UPV have taken care of our two rabbits for the last seven years or so. We have experienced nothing less than incredible compassion and care, not only for our little friends, but for us as well. They always consider things outside the box, and provide knowledge and education to help us further enrich the lives of our critters. The entire team treated our rabbits as not just patients, but as guests, so we were always one degree away from getting quick updates and answers to our queries. The team will make sure that all issues are addressed to the greatest capacity before the end of a visit. The new Osborne Park clinic is a much more focused and calm environment, which avoids the otherwise excitable nature of general vet clinics. Thanks to the UPV team.

Absolutely amazing staff! They are all so caring, supportive and professional. I had to provide palliative care for two of my older rabbits & the information & support I received from the staff was incredible.
10/10 would recommend 😊

Always a pleasure visiting unusual pet vets. They take good care of our birds and answer any of our questions with in-depth responses. Seen Sam a few times and it's obvious he loves his job and the animals he treats, and I'm sure all the doctors are the same.

Thank you to the team at Unusual Pet Vets for all your professional advice and help with a bird we rescued. Unfortunately Birdie didn’t make it through, but everyone did their absolute best effort in trying to keep him alive.

Huge thank you in particular to Doctor Lucinda Lam who was with us through the entire journey, your empathy and professionalism put us at ease as we knew Birdie was in the best possible hands. Glad there are people like you looking after our animals when they are in need.

Fantastic vet service, great knowledge and bedside manner. For my dog and most recently my rabbits 🙂 so very happy 🙂 as it’s stressful for the bunz, while she prepared the bill, the bunz got a little free roam time, this really helped with relaxing them 🙂 and it was cute 🙂

Had to come twice a week for a few weeks for my bunny Buster, the vet nurses were great and sorted his eye out. Were able to help when my regular vet couldn't; definitely will be my first stop next time any rabbit problems come up. Buster is a happy boy now. :)

They are really great here, they have treated our animals with the utmost respect every time. We're never rushed out the door to squeeze another patient in. All of our questions were answered and everything was explained to us. We will always take our animals here whenever they need anything.

These guys are pretty amazing. As my eclectus was quite sick I could drop him off and wen the vet could see him as they were fully booked he did what he had to do to diagnose what the problem was. And wen it was convenient to both party's I could go pick him up so I was able to work my bird around my job which was such a blessing. Thanks unusual vets!

I took my rat here for the first time and I was surprised by how friendly the staff were. I felt really comfortable being there. It was also a peace of mind being at a place that knows what they are doing around pet rats.

The absolute best vet for any unusual pets! Their vet nurses Amanda, Sita, Chelsea, Claire and Angela (I hope I didn't miss anyone and I am so sorry if I have) have gone absolutely above and beyond with helping us. Their passion for animals is exceptional and I wouldn't take Mr Smithers to any other practice thanks to their vet nurses. Dr Lucinda is also an absolute rabbit guru who shows nothing but patience for new time owners. Thank you so much everyone.

I took George, my male black headed caique parrot for a checkup as his mate had died unexpectedly the day before.
Avian vet Lucinda gave me confidence in her care by her knowledge, thoroughness, patience and skill in handling a bird who is prone to biting.

Have being bringing my birds to this vet for a long while as my bird Merlin has long existing health issues. They have been nothing but kind and lovely towards me during moments of stress. As a new bun mum, I was pretty nervous to enter the veterinary world, as I didn’t know what to expect. Throughout my visits I have met with Dr Luke, Dr Brandon and Nurse Chelsea.

Dr Luke is amazing, helped my bun when she was balding so gentle and great advice for correct diet regime, I appreciate all his help and seeing my bun in an emergency.

Dr Brandon is brilliant, highly empathetic, understands concerns of pet owners and provided bunny information in terms of recommended home care, always willing to answer any questions I may have patiently.

Nurse Chelsea is marvellous, always gives great advice over the phone she listens and is proactive in actions. Follow up phone calls to ask how my bunny is very kind.

I feel very comfortable with my bunny attending unusual pet vet all the professionals I have encountered have been so lovely, they listen to any concerns I have attentively and never have brushed me off. I am so lucky my bun has such talented individuals to look after her in the future ahead! A loyal Client now to unusual pet vet Murdoch! Thank you 😊🐰

Simply amazing. Saved the life of my Guinea Pig with cutting edge specialised treatment. She is alive today against all odds because of these Veterinarians. Took all the time necessary to explain to us exactly what we needed to do, sending through detailed instructions. Not too hard on the wallet, either. Do yourself and your pet a favour. Make these guys stop #1.

I can't speak highly enough about the team of vets/vet nurses who saved my baby weiro when he was very close to passing away.
The service and care has been exceptional from the very start!

Outstanding communication, phone call follow ups, prompt replies to emails, extremely professional, so caring and empathetic.. They really are just AMAZING at The Unusual Pet Vets.

A very special thank you to Luke, who has been so commited to saving my little bird from day one, and holding onto hope for him. My family and I are so thankful for you and your team for all you have done for him and for his ongoing care and treatment.

When our bunny Gary got a nasty bone infection in his legs, our local vet basically gave up and suggested we put him down. It was then we were told about the UPV in Murdoch. I really can't sing their praises enough. Dr Linda was beyond amazing with Gary's treatment, and after 3 dedicated months, Gary has gone from being very unwell and not able to walk, to now being back on his feet again... bloody amazing!! Thanks so much to Dr Linda and the team... you're definitely Gary's saving angels. I can not thank you guys enough! I've posted before and after pics, so you can see the result 🤗💕

Took my guinea pig today. Saw Dr Kelly Giles. Very nice vet. Very informative visit. They have half hour appointments so it seems very thorough. I would definitely come again. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re on a budget however. But you pay for service and experience and it shows.

Our sweet ratty passed away recently due to circumstances outside of anyone's control, I am forever grateful for the staff here for their respectful and caring nature. His passing was very difficult for us and their empathy was unforgettably touching. Thank you deeply for sharing his final photo and sending us that lovely card. ❤

Everyone there was so lovely and helpful! It was Delilah's first ever vist to a vet and Dr Catherine was lovely.

She was very thorough and listened to my concerns even if they seemed small. She also informed me of the options I had and the prices for tests should I want some done.

We had a great time. Well, maybe not so much Delilah after getting needles haha!

Thank you all. We will definitely be back and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Amazing vet for all your weird, wonderful and amazing animals! I've been taking my scale babies here since I got my first snake, and even though it takes me an hour and half to get there, I still won't take them anywhere else! Dr Josh and the team are absolutely fantastic, they take their time, answer as many question as you like and provide you with as much information as they can. They are all amazingly knowledgeable when it comes to our scaley, feathery, slippery friends! I couldn't recommend the Unusual Pet Vet team at Jindalee enough!

Dr Liz Jiang is such an amazing and professional vet! She is amazing! She is kind and gentle! She provides me with lots of detailed information of my Guinea pig condition and make sure I understand it well! I love the service very much!

I have had both Dr Liz and Dr Stephanie at the Jindalee clinic now to see my Children’s Python Wattle and they have both been amazing. As a first time snake owner they have been great with advising me on how to update my care practices according to her changing needs. I got Wattle onto the slither start package and it has given me great peace of mind knowing that she’s a healthy little Python. I highly recommend there start up packages to ensure your unusual pet gets the best start in life and to establish there medical history with the team at UPV.

The team at UPV Jindalee are exceptional. My partner and I have been taking our chickens here for a few years and have experienced nothing but professionalism and kindness from Dr's Josh, Kat and Liz, as well as vetenary nurses Sarah, Lana and Harry There are more members of the team now however we've predominantly dealt with the aforementioned.

We had one extraordinary case in 2020 with one of our most precious birds. The team, with our blessing and persistence went to great lengths to successfully treat her. Due to her extensive injuries, multiple surgeries were required, however despite the experience she went on to lay again and reintegrate with the flock.

At present, I have a chicken being treated for a heart condition and once again the team is very proactive and caring, despite the grim long term outlook.

Bottom line, they care deeply and if you're willing to work with them, they will do their very best to achieve a good outcome. Great for education too.

For the quality of treatment, compassion and interpersonal service the pricing is great. I won't take my ladies anywhere else.

Hats off to the team at Jindalee - W&K.

Cannot recommend a better veterinarian clinic. My reptiles get treated so well when we have to visit. I’ve been visiting Josh for 6 years and wouldn’t change to another veterinarian anytime soon. Wouldn’t trust any other with my little ones

Absolutely love The Unusual Pet Vet. Our two piggies have needed care over the past few years and I can totally trust The Unusual Pet Vet with that care. Both have had different operations for different diagnosis and being 4years old I was concerned with operating on them however the care undertaken throughout the operation and beyond got them through and back to optimal health quickly. Highly recommend this vet for your Unusual Pet.

We are from the Gold Coast but this vet was recommended to us and they are totally worth the drive!
Our bearded dragon was displaying some strange behaviours and these guys did not stop til they found what was wrong, and a solution! Incredibly thorough and caring - couldn't recommend these guys enough!

A fantastic and needed service for our exotic pets.
I took my dear Daisy there, she was very ill and they did what they could to save her, but age plus illness didn't help, we were given the time we wanted to say our goodbyes which I deeply appreciate; I'll always be grateful for their efforts and the kind treatment they gave to my beloved Daisy.
A week later took another one of my pets there, this time it was an emergency and again they applied the necessary treatment and kindness to my beloved Didi, I can gladly say that a day later she was happy and in high spirits!
Thank you so much for everything you have done for us.

I've been taking my pets here for over 2 years now. UPV Jindalee is incredible. They have amazing facilities and they care so deeply about your pets. Your pets are in excellent hands and I can't imagine taking my animals anywhere else as their vets are so knowledgeable and proactive. Love this vet and all the staff, all the nurses are also very lovely and very careful with your pets.

I have two guinea pigs and Dr. Luang help me to check their health conditions. She is the best doctor I met in Brisbane. She using her professional and patient techniques and my girls very like her. Every time I go there, the front desk always friendly welcome us and check in efficiently. Truly appreciate for their help and hope everything goes well.

Thanks so much to Dr Joshua and his team for all your efforts. They gave me more time with my guinea pig Steve and eventually made giving him peace a comforting experience. Very caring and compassionate vet can't recommend enough.

I’ve never encountered a vet that offers to take your unwell pet home with them so they're well looked after! I unfortunately wasn't aware of The Unusual Pet Vets until after several visits to other vets who claimed to treat guinea pigs.

After a couple of basic diagnosis from other vets, Dr Joshua made an accurate diagnosis within seconds so it is well worth your time to attend The Unusual Pet Vets for an accurate and timely diagnosis on your special pets.

Best vet I’ve been to for my rats. I’ve seen both Liz and Josh at Jindalee and they both obviously care so much about the animals they see. They are very thorough with their examinations and helpful. Couldn’t be happier as it can be so tricky to find a good vet for exotic animals.

I take my chickens to Josh, my chickens have been going to him scene they were 1 day old chicks. Highly recommend, He dose think cost effective if it's needed. I have a adopted chook and she is now retired from egg laying they helped guide me with a hormone implant for her and she's now happy & enjoying retirement.

Very clean and well presented vet clinic.
My partner and I brought a water dragon here that had been hit by a car.
Unfortunately it had to be put down but they were very kind and I would be happy to return for help with any future animal problems.

There are simply not enough words to explain how incredible the vets at The Unusual Pet Vets- Sunshine Coast. I’ve never met anyone who cares this much about our babies, every single staff member has treated my bearded dragons like they love them as much as I do, they treat me like family and go more than above and beyond for us. They’re incredibly intelligent and highly skilled veterinarians and vet nurses who do absolutely anything they can to help our unusual pets, which involves some really out of the box thinking a lot of the time. I’m incredibly thankful for these beautiful souls, I don’t know what I would do without them.

Ferntree Gully clinic has been amazing. All the staff are very caring and knowledgeable. Offer so much if their valuable time to care for your loved pet. I would definitely say they go above and beyond the norm. Can’t recommend them enough 👍

Dr Pat Jones’ service was phenomenal Not only did he treat our cockatiels damaged claw gently carefully and with authority he also took the time to talk us through cockatiel husbandry in great depth Being patient with our questions and clear and informative with his knowledge Therefore my experience means I would recommend this practice for any ‘unusual pet’ vet needs

Highly recommend this clinic for exotic pets.
My pet Python and Cane Toad had an appointment with Dr Sasha today, they were both treated so respectfully despite not being conventional pets.
A necropsy was performed and completed within an hour of me leaving the clinic. Amazed with how promptly the case was handled.
A very knowledgeable, skillful, and professional team. Thank you to Dr Sasha especially who made saying goodbye to my oldest pet a lot more bearable. Thank you again.

Our little guinea pig Penny had a large cyst on her face. So we looked for the best guinea pig vet to help her.

We found Unusual Pet Vets Sunshine Coast. We where then booked into to see there top guinea pig veterinarians, Dr Sasha Miles. Sasha took Penny in and immediately identified what was wrong with Penny's face. Sasha also noticed that she had a bladder stone and infection. Sasha then expertly removed her stone without invasive surgery. She then removed her cyst on her face and checked to see it wasn't cancer or anything else. Penny came out looking the world a difference. Sasha then called us personally to let us know the test results for Penny's cyst, which showed it was only benign. She is now back at home enjoying her life healthier and pain free.

We are so grateful for Dr Sasha's expertise and care with our guinea pigs. We have been to a few other special vets in Queensland. With this in mind, we can confidently say, Unusual Pet Vets Sunshine Coast truly does supply the best care for your unusual pets.

Not only it's a high professional place to bring your special animal partner but also a place where warm people run the settlement. You can find whatever you need! They also understand how important is your companion animal (in my case, my scaly breasted lorikeet, Greenie).
We have his doctor Sasha there and she's super professional and highly detailed vet. I highly recommend them!

My conure might have swallowed a sequence, took her to these vets i couldn't be more happier as they washed her crop and sucked it out, sequence don't come up on an x-ray i found out, checked her out and clipped her nails. I brought my lorikeet in this morning after a rushed visit to the emergency vet last night, all the staff were wonderful and Dr Alex was amazing to deal with and thoroughly discusses our options and what could be done to help her - was very reassuring during such a worrying time.
Unfortunately she was just too unwell and didn't make it, but when I went back in to bring her home i could see straight away how genuinely upset they were that she couldn't be saved - I know she was in the best possible hands when it happened.

Really amazing people who are very passionate about their patients. I couldn't possibly fault them in any way and will definitely be bringing our other feather baby here for now on.

I had the best experience I have ever had at the vet with my rabbits Ralph and Effie at the Ferntree Gully clinic. Dr. Sharon Tsim was wonderful and treated my rabbits like her own pets, I have never seen them so relaxed at the vet before! She was very knowledgeable and gave me great information after the appointment. I will never go anywhere else now and would recommend this clinic to anyone with unusual pets 🥰

Can't recommend this place enough for anything bun related! Our little Milly had an emergency (gastric dilation) and would have most likely died without the help of Dr. James, who diagnosed Milly and put her on fluids straight away. All the vets/staff are very knowledgeable, caring and friendly! We have only ever had good positive experiences coming here and will continue to come here!

Absolutely amazing service from all the staff members at Melbourne Rabbit Clinic. All the receptionist and nurses I have spoken to have been really understanding and supportive to accomodate and deliver professional advice. Dr. Kathy and Dr. Zoe are amazing. Cannot put into words how much I've appricated their help in treating my rabbit who's a little terror for them at the best of times. Both of them are lovely and I feel like they actually listen to my concerns compared to other vets that just run tests and if nothing comes up then the rabbit is in the clear (which they haven't been).

Melbourne rabbit clinic is definitely on the expensive side but worth the money with Dr. Kathy and Dr. Zoe. I have had a bad experience with another vet there hence only 4 stars.

Had to unfortunately put down our young bunny due to some health complications. They were able to fit us in on a busy friday afternoon and Dr Sharon was more than comforting and kind during such a hard time. We are deeply grateful for her demeanour throughout the entire process. Amazing place with lovely staff. We first came here after a recommendation from a friend after my rabbit had some problems were quickly able to fix them with a few diet changes. I trust them with my rabbits and i love how much you care for them. Would 100% recommend to people because good rabbit savvy vets are hard to find. Thank you for caring about bunnies and other small animals!

Our little bunny, Biggie, was going through a blockage and the team at the rabbit clinic were so accommodating to take her in for potential surgery. Every person was so kind, understanding and loving toward our baby and kept us up to date which is such a relief when this is your first time. I can't tell you what a godsend this place is when it comes to anything bun related, they just have the ability to put you at ease just due to the way they love on our fur babies.

The RSPCA recommended we take our rabbit to Melbourne Rabbit Clinic due to the mysterious death of another rabbit. Dr Cathy Wong put in a huge effort to gather the evidence, analyse it and come up with the likely cause of death. She gave us peace of mind that our surviving rabbit is in fine health and suggested some dietary changes to ensure ongoing health. She also provided surprising advice about how to find the right bunny companion to keep our rabbit company. We were most impressed by Cathy's super-thorough consultation, expert advice and compassionate manner. We are so glad we found Melbourne Rabbit Clinic.

Could not be more positive about this veterinary practice. They saved our 33 year old cockatoo Paulie's life. We had to make a 380 kilometre trip to the Frankston Practice as there was no longer an avian vet where we are. They saw Paulie as an emergency and kept her there for nearly a fortnight until they stabilised her to the point she could be operated on. Great caring and professional people. Thank you.

Today we travelled up to The Unusual Pet Vets for the first time with Luke and then stopped off at a local cafe.
He was VERY popular! Loved every minute and even had a dance party out back before having a nap so he could get all the ouchy stuff done. Rather than waking up sleepy and confused he started dancing again right away!!
Thank you Dr Kiara and all the doctors and nurses who made Luke enjoy every moment of his vet visit! He was a very happy bird all the way home and was so good on his harness 🤍💛🦜

Thank you so much for the during after care when my granddaughter and my pet rabbit, Rosie was ready for greener pastures. It’s been a difficult time feeling guilty and missing her (him) so much.
For nearly 12 years Rosie was loved by many and enjoyed the freedom of having the backyard free range. RIP Rosie and thank you again to staff for your care. xx

First time visiting the clinic since I do live far away but worth the drive for the knowledgeable staff since normal vets lack the reptile experience and knowledge needed. Was very impressed with such a nice and positive space. Needed to get my lizards a health check since one of them had a little issue with his leg. Was seen by Dr Kiara who was friendly and professional the entire time . I was happy to hear my lizards are both happy and healthy for their age and the leg issue seems to have healed itself in the last few weeks and he is full of beans again! If I ever need my lizards seen to again it's well worth the drive.

Every single person I spoke to both on the phone and in person was knowledgeable and patient in answering questions I had. In person, everyone there was clearly skilled and comfortable handling my lizard and helped to easily resolve the concerns I was having both immediately, and via advice for long term care. I cannot recommend enough booking in here if you need care for an animal that is not a cat or dog.

Just wanted to update my review to say WOW. I am impressed. I have been to many many vets over the years with barely little success. This vet goes above and beyond to help my animals and is always so happy and enthusiastic to see them! Been twice now due to emergency situations. One of the times my chicken was put down and they were kind, caring and understanding with the process. For once a vet understood our animals and thoroughly checked them over. They explained all the reasoning and options properly. We took home footprints and they gave us a card and sent us another card in the post with seeds to plant. So so beautiful ❤ thank you for the support during sad times. Only negatives would be that I wish they were open later for more animal emergencies as no other places would take birds late at night. And finally they are quite expensive. Highly recommend if you can afford it to go!

Unusual vet pet peninsula is a fantastic clinic with incredible vets!
Dr. Hamish who is now our go to vet for our snake is so knowledgeable on reptiles and we are always pleased after visiting him, he is always so kind and caring while also being super professional and willing to share his knowledge.
The nurses are always incredible sweet and willing to help any questions we have

Highly recommended to anyone with reptiles!

Have to give a five star review for the team at The Unusual Pet Vets for providing excellent care to my boy and keeping me updated throughout the entire process. In particular, I would like to thank Dr Hamish and his team for saving my boy's right leg. I was told that my boy's leg was badly fractured and the surgery would be very complicated having to repair a fractured 6mm thigh bone. I was not having too much hope that his leg will be able to be repaired given the severity of the injury. Fortunately, Dr Hamish performed some magical work and managed to save my boy's leg and he is now starting to move again!! If you are looking for quality care and treatment for your pets, this is the place to be. You certainly pay for the quality but trust me it totally worth it. I live more than an hour away but it certainly worth my travel time. Attached are photos of my boy's repaired leg. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone.

Have been there a few times for our pet rats. Great staff and very caring. We recently had to have one of our rats euthanized, as he had a severe respiratory illness. The vet and all staff handled everything with such kindness and care. They never rushed anything and ensured we were at ease. Even packaged our rat, in a suitable way, for us to be able to take him home for a garden burial. And on top of this, a week later we received a handmade card and a bag of flower seeds, to be planted on his grave. Just phenomenal, thought and kindness goes into all their work.

The vets at The Usual pets vets are amazing. I took my bunny cookie for a checkup there after my other bunny passed away. They showed great empathy for our loss and took the time to make sure cookie was healthy. Cookie had her vaccination and they called the next day to check how she was doing. I honestly can't thank Hamish and James enough, today we rushed our beautiful guinea pig Erika in and they was fast to make a diagnose and rushed our baby girl into emergency surgery. James called just to let us know everything went well, My anxiety got the better of me and I called them right before they shut to check up on our girl and they reassured me that she was doing better and was alot brighter and would keep us updated on any news ☺️ thank you UPV for saving our girl ❤️

Very compassionate and reasonable staff here. I can say with confidence that they only want what is best for your pet and will give you the best cause of action to take along with other options depending on your financial situation and what not. We had our guinea pig cared here and we thought we were going to lose her. She has recovered over the course of a month or so and wouldn't have if it wasn't for this vet.
