Vet Nurse, Danekè (She/Her)
Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Cert III in Captive Animals, BSc Ecology and Conservation Biology
Danekè developed a love for exotic pets from a young age. Growing up in a household where traditional pets weren’t allowed due to their noise, she instead kept rabbits, birds, reptiles, fish, and even insects. This early experience sparked a lifelong passion for the care of species that are often overlooked.
She went on to study zookeeping and veterinary nursing, beginning her career in a general veterinary practice before moving into a specialist hospital, where she worked in emergency for over two years. Danekè also volunteers weekly at The Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and recently completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Ecology and Conservation Biology, with a strong focus on protecting Australia’s native wildlife.
She is thrilled to be part of the UPV team, combining her diverse background and love for exotics to deliver gold-standard care to the animals she’s most passionate about.
