Dr Hei Wing Pong
BVSc
Dr Wing began her veterinary journey at The University of Queensland in Gatton, inspired by a lifelong love of exotic pets. Growing up in Hong Kong, she had the unique opportunity to care for a wide range of animals, including the unusual pets we’re familiar with in Australia, such as birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and turtles, as well as other species like chinchillas and hamsters.
Dr Wing knew early on that her passion lay in exotic animal medicine. Following her time at university, she stayed focused on her goal and began working with birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Her passion eventually led her to Melbourne, where she brought along her feathered companions, Pepper the chicken and Pop-pop the king quail.
Hobbies and Interests
Beyond her veterinary duties, Dr Wing enjoys staying active through hobbies such as badminton and cycling. She also likes bringing ideas to life on paper, often found sketching in her free time. Having exotic animals as cherished family members, she deeply understands the bonds shared between pets and their owners. Dr Wing is passionate about ensuring the health and happiness of every pet she treats, forging lasting relationships with both pets and their families.
Owned Pets
Dr Wing is the proud pet parent to Pepper, the Bantam hen.
