Dr Katrina Wood (She/Her)

Dr Katrina (Kat) graduated from Murdoch University. After several years working in a small animal practice, she completed a three-year residency in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine at Perth Zoo. Following the submission of her thesis on snake virology, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medical Science in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine.
Dr Kat is a regular lecturer and demonstrator at Murdoch University and enjoys teaching veterinary students and instilling a passion for wildlife, conservation and exotic pets. She has always been passionate about exotic animals and is particularly interested in guinea pigs and reptiles.
Kat enjoys meeting exotic pet owners and helping them to keep their pets happy and healthy.
Hobbies and Interests
When not working, Kat likes to spend time with her partner and her pets. She is also an amateur dancer who enjoys ballet, pointe and contemporary. She enjoys listening to true crime podcasts, playing PC games, being creative and eating cheese.
Owned Pets
Dr Kat is a proud pet parent to two very spoilt and loved guinea pigs called Sage and Genevive and a cavoodle named Barclay.
