Veterinary Nurse Emma
Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing
Emma is a qualified Veterinary Nurse with a special interest in wildlife medicine. She works alongside Vets for Compassion and holds a Taronga Zoo Wildlife Certificate.
Emma runs and operates a registered wildlife shelter, with wombats being her favourite species to care for. She has more than five years of experience providing specialised neonate care for marsupials.
Her passion for wildlife conservation has taken her to several disaster deployment zones, where she has assisted in rescue, treatment, and release efforts in bushfire-affected areas.
Emma is currently working towards obtaining her Darters Licence to further assist injured wildlife in the field.
A passionate traveller, Emma has visited 34 countries and volunteered with multiple international animal rescue projects, including working with orangutans in Sumatra and elephants in Thailand.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, Emma enjoys animal rescue, wildlife surveying, pilates, bird watching and bird counts, travelling, and pottery.
Owned Pets
Emma shares her home with a wide range of species, including cats, dogs, ducks, chickens, bearded dragons, green tree frogs, phasmids, giant snails, and a ferret, and of course, any wildlife currently in her care.
