Dr Kate McGinni
Dr Kate earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 2020 and has been practicing in Queensland ever since. She completed a rotating internship at a specialist hospital and has also worked in small animal general practice. Originally from San Francisco, California, Kate moved to Australia in 2017 and has never looked back. She also has a bachelor of science in zoology and has always nurtured a passion for exotic pets – having kept snakes, lizards, rodents, birds and one tortoise. She has always known she wanted to work in exotic medicine and has special interests in avian and reptile medicine.
Hobbies and Interest
Outside of work, Kate enjoys birding, hiking, snorkeling, and spending time at the beach with her dogs.
Dr Kate is a proud pet parent to Buck and Pi (two large, scruffy dogs), a Siamese cat named Ari, two green-cheeked conures called Zee and Lola, and several fish tanks including goldfish and bettas.
